People have been climbing buildings for fun for at least a hundred years, but the sport of urban climbing has exploded in popularity over the past few years. The closest thing this new generation of daredevils has to a rock star is Mustang Wanted, a pseudonymous climber from Ukraine who posting photos of himself dangling from skyscrapers, cranes, antennas, etc. His specialty is climbing the tallest things he can find, then defying death by dangling off them, often with one hand. He says he doesn’t feel any sort of ball-shriveling terror at the stunts he pulls. “Sometimes I think that I am a robot. I do not feel anything.”, he said.
Mustang Wanted has been doing this for over a decade, and has yet to be injured. But before we go any further, we should note quite strenuously that unless you are either a professional (you aren’t) or immune to the effects of gravity (you aren’t), don’t do this.
